Halloween 2009

Sorry for the lack in posting here. I am not sure how many people still visit this blog since I have moved most postings/photos to Facebook. If you're not on FB, join now! :-)

We had a great Halloween this year! Charlie got to make his homemade mouse costume (thanks Grandma DeeDee) several times and Alex was looking good in the traditional pumpkin costume. Brian and I even got into it dressing as Jon and Kate (minus 8). A good time was had by all and we have enough candy to last us to next Halloween!

Summer!

We've had a great summer so far now that the weather has finally decided to cooperate. State Fair, swimming, ice cream, trips to Madison to see family, etc. We're gearing up for a week-end trip to Chicago on the train and then Alex's 1st birthday!
Hope your summer is going just as well!

4th of July

We had a great 4th of July this year! This really is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) holidays. It just screams summer and we always see so many old friends. This year was fun because it was Alex's first and Charlie was REALLY into it. We decorated the wagon for the Lake Park parade, walked the parade, saw fireworks, went swimming at the Steinmiller's annual bbq. It was a busy week-end but totally worth it. There are tons of pictures but here are a few that capture the week-end. Enjoy!

Random shots

No real theme on this post but I realized I hadn't posted any new pics in a while. Summer is upon us (although Mother Nature hasn't quite gotten the memo) and schedules are busy. Brian and I just got back from a much needed vacation in Door County. The boys are doing well and Alex is getting bigger by the day. He is very animated, "talks" up a storm and loves playing with his toys. Although, his favorite past time is still watching his big brother Charlie.

Enjoy the new pics!

Easter 2009

We had a great Easter this year! Dying eggs, a couple Easter egg hunts and more candy than we know what to do with. We went to Madison on Saturday to spend the day with Brian's family and the great-grandparents and then brunch on Sunday with Emily's family. The weather was gorgeous and fun was had by all!

Getting a picture of these three together is no small task!

Soccer star!

So, it begins...

The Saturdays spent on some freezing cold or scorching hot soccer field, sitting in my folding chair, cheering my lungs out for my little soccer star. I have officially become a "soccer mom."

That's right, Charlie started a little "Mikro" soccer league this past Saturday through Milwaukee Kickers. It brings a smile to my face because I too played soccer through the same league on a team called The Darts. My dad coached that team and I can only hope to someday coach one of Charlie's teams. However, thanks to my dad, I won't have to check out books from the library on how to coach soccer (like he did). He taught me everything I need to know. Thanks Dad!

Enjoy these pics from the first "practice." Charlie loved it and told us he scored 5 goals.

Ready to go!

Sippy 101

I thought I would just try giving Alex a sippy after dinner tonight. I seem to remember Charlie starting one around this age. He seemed to like it and is slowly getting the hang of it. Still primarily bottles for now, but soon enough...
